Find a listening ear here with us, we want to hear your story. Adult therapy services with CCT provide a comfortable and safe environment for you to explore your emotional health and history. Adults who have tried traditional talk therapy in the past often find new levels of insight, empowerment and hope at CCT.

Each person is unique and brings their individual story, gifts and challenges to the therapy process.  At CCT, we want to know YOU. Our approach often incorporates the perspective of various creative arts therapies, including art, movement, and music, depending on your interest and goals.

Combining these methods along with traditional talk therapy involves many areas of the brain, creating a therapy experience that uses the body, heart, and mind to heal and strengthen the WHOLE person. Our innovative approaches often inspire significant insight, growth, and change, supporting you to create the life you want for yourself.

Issues We Treat

01

Anxiety

  1. Anxiety often presents as avoidance--obvious fear or worry. However, unexplained irritability and anger can also have their root in anxiety, as can trouble sleeping, fatigue, headaches, or chronic stomachaches. Our approach is to help clients explore and face their worries through understanding and support.

03

MOOD DISORDERS

Mood disorders, like bipolar, often evolve as our brain’s best attempt at protecting us. Coming to terms with the past, assigning responsibility where it truly lies, allowing space for grief and anger, and eventually deciding to fully participate in our own life are all treatment goals with mood disorders, as are day-to-day coping skills.

05

AHDH, AUTISM & NUERODIVERSITY

CCT loves neurodiversity! Clients with diagnosed or suspected ADHD, Autism, or other neurodiversity are welcomed at our practice. We work to support them (and their families) in understanding how their specially-wired brain works, and what it needs. This includes exploring how to have satisfying relationships, achieve their goals, and find confidence and value in themselves and their unique-ness

07

LIFE TRANSITIONS & LOSS

As adults, we know that the life path we want for ourselves sometimes is not the path that ends up unfolding for us. A medical diagnosis, an accident, unplanned family responsibilities, or changes of heart over our careers or relationships, can all create deep feelings of grief, frustration, and uncertainty. These transition times are often when clients seek out additional support, to work through unruly feelings and ultimately get clarity on what matters most in the new reality.

02

Depression

  1. In recent years, depression has become an epidemic. Social isolation, pain from the past, and unsolvable problems can grow into an emotional landscape of despair and hopelessness. Feelings of loneliness and shame can become unrelenting, especially in the aftermath of loss or relationship challenges. Our strategy is to bring clients back into a place of connectedness, where they can get a toehold on hope and find a true sense of their own value.

04

DISSOCIATION

  1. Dissociation can be frightening and confusing. While everyone spaces out sometimes, clinical dissociation means that clients experience regular or extended episodes of questioning whether their reality is real. This unsettling symptom is often rooted in trauma, and can respond very well when the protective mechanisms of the dissociation are explored and honored.

06

TRAUMA

Most people are familiar with the idea that trauma can come from overwhelmingly dangerous situations or losses. What many folks are still learning is that chronic relational trauma—the seemingly small wounds that many of us endure over and over again from loved ones—can have just as devastating an effect as single-episode disaster trauma, and often more so.

08

EATING ISSUES

Food and eating have a powerful effect on how we feel. Obsessive calorie counting, food rules, and eating restriction can quickly become a full-blown eating disorder, as can regular over-eating and binge-eating. We help clients to discover the underlying feelings and situations their eating issues are trying to address, and work together to bring food back to its role as fuel and nourishment. Referrals to higher levels of care and collaborating with other providers, like nutritionists, are incorporated, when needed.
